PostSubject: Person of Note: Ishu   Person of Note: Ishu EmptyFri Nov 01, 2013 5:38 pm

Name: Ishu

Gender: Male

Age: 85

Rank: Former knight

Race: Kushiban

Place of Birth: Hoszh Iszhir

Reasons for Joining: Recommended transfer from a Jedi Knight from another temple. Ishu says that he cares greatly for life. Tall or small. When his parent enrolled him at the other temple, he discovered in his teens that he could better grow his caring trait better when balanced and aided by the Force. He believes it is his purpose (he thinks far ahead as best he can).

Biograhpy:

Once upon a time, on the planet of Hoszh Iszhir, there was a young Kushiban by the name of Ishu. He had no last name due to his parents deciding it safest that way. On Hoszh Iszhir people would sometimes revenge on the sons and daughters of their enemies. On Ishu’s homeworld, there were deserts to be seen nearly everywhere. And it was in these vast deserts that Ishu was born and lived for nearly nine years. During some of these years, Ishu was quiet and poor at his chores and games. During the others, he grew in his own unique ways.

Ishu was born into a family that traveled much for many years before settling down. When he was born, his family was traveling behind Ishu’s father. His father was a man of war. But not of killing, but of spoken debate. He did not care for killing, though killing was one of the only ways to survive at some times. Survival was harsh on Hoszh Iszhir. Despite this, Ishu’s father did his best constantly to avoid physical conflict. Instead, his father concentrated his battles in his speeches. One such speech stopped a potential war. He made peace between a pair arguing about a cargo transport of rations and other supplies. If he had not succeeded, the pair would have brought their family and friends into the conflict and a deadly war would have resulted. Such was one of his greatest achievements, one that Ishu’s mother often told by starlight whenever she could spare a moment. One might believe that this would potentially mark Ishu’s future for a similar fate, but it was never spoken of outside of Ishu’s small family. In these parts people were too afraid of sparking conflict to speak of such happenings. They kept to themselves, not only for themselves but also for the sake of their children having two parents, a rare luxury on Hoszh Iszhir.

Ishu’s parents worked hard to separate him the seemingly endless troubles that plagued the world. So while Ishu enjoyed good food and shelter beyond that of many of the villagers, he also lived through days and nights of seeing his parents return from the outside world. Most often, they were tired and vague from it. Other times Ishu’s father would examine a wound from the day’s work and fall apart from pain. All this Ishu, a silent boy, witnessed for himself. In his silence he withheld much emotion. This did not become clear to him until he was nine years old. His eyes and ears drank in the pains his parents had, to the point that one day he approached his mother, at the age of four, looked into her eyes and said that things would turn out alright. His mother was incredibly surprised at this behavior from her young son She loved her son and that he was capable of just as much at such an age. She also prayed desperately every night since for Ishu to not have to witness her and her husband’s hardships at such a young age. That wish did not come true. Ishu continued to see his parents suffer for years. Even when they tried to hide it, Ishu sometimes showed signs of knowing.

Once in Ishu’s youth, at the age of five, his parents led him to a religious meeting that was sometimes held when there was peace far and wide, a rare opportunity that Ishu’s parents would not miss. During the meeting, a group of children played soft music while the meeting took place. When Ishu’s father made a prayer, as was traditional for all attendees to do in turn, Ishu rose from his seat and walked into the clear patch of sand between the people and the musicians. He waited until his father had spoken his first words of prayer and then started to dance. There was no training involved in this dance. Ishu had never danced before until now. He just spun around at different speeds until he ended up with a pattern to his dance that matched the music beautifully. When the musicians finished, with a bewildered stare upon him, Ishu stopped, ran to his mother, curled his paw around her arm and fell asleep in her lap within a moment. Everyone was amazed that Ishu had danced around strangers, and that he did so on his own accord. Gossip arose among other parents of this young boy. Ishu, the boy who lit their gathering with a dance. A action completely pure and uncalled for. Unstained. Unheard of.

Four years later, Ishu experienced more pain than ever before. His father went missing in the dead of night after giving a speech to a village a few miles away from the family’s home. Despite various attempts to find him made by Ishu’s mother, Ishu did not see his father again during his stay on Hoszh Iszhir. Ishu was now nine years old and his mind had developed with great hatred and great love. A month after attempts to find his father, Ishu’s mother brought up the subject. Ishu responded with silence, after a few minutes into her words, he wept silently into his bed. After explaining what might have happened to him and the hope of him returning, Ishu fell fast asleep before she could continue. In the morning, Ishu found a journal beside his bed on the floor (it had been placed there for a lack of furniture). Ishu asked what it was for, he was told that it was a tool used for writing down one’s thoughts.

Ishu grew attached to the idea of being able to express his thoughts and emotions in a book. Books would not retaliate or become hurt from it. A smile appeared on his face. So he wrote about many sorts of problems he faced with his friends. He was never very attached to any of his friends due to being somewhat distant with his tongue. He was a shy boy. He was afraid of hurting people with his griefs, whether by words or by appearance. This was because his parents could not help but show signs of grief nearly every day. He was an intuitive thinker that could feel out the emotions of others by their appearances and words, even at the age of nine. So he continued his writings, which continued to be elaborate and explained various things that went wrong and right in his life. He also added many fictional stories that explained what could have gone wrong in a day, or what could have gone right. He gave it all undivided attention, he put priority over his writings and often ignored his hunger and chores to write down the wrongs and rights, fictional or real, in his imagination and in the world.

Ishu’s days of being nine were difficult. He began to open his eyes more to the troubles of the world and got his hands on any resources that could tell him about life outside of his planet. He read books and learned a little basic, because he knew that there was plenty more written in basic than in his native tongue. He knew mostly Gektlian and Kushiban languages.

Ishu’s mother ended up reading his journal while he was outside. She saw a couple pages of his writing about good and bad. She was reminded of the Jedi, a large group of people that went about making things right. She thought over Ishu’s future overnight and made a hasty decision.

The following morning, Ishu was on a transport in route to a Jedi temple. A planet that Ishu’s mother heard had Jedi on it. In a pack on at Ishu’s side she placed four years of savings as well as plenty of rations. With a pack at his side, hugs and kisses goodbye and a future ahead of him, Ishu traveled to see the Jedi for the first time. Ishu’s mother did not know that one had to be Force-sensitive to be a Jedi. Ishu arrived at the Jedi Temple and was tested after a couple days of excellent dining and rest. Fortunately, Ishu was tested as positive.

Thus began Ishu's training on his path to Knighthood and never-ending learning. Ishu stayed with the Jedi and was initiated on his tenth birthday, later on he asked why but was told it was a mere coincidence. His training begun the day following his initiation. His first lesson was in the Morals, Ethics and Diplomacy class. He listened and wrote just like all the other Initiates and Padawans. He was mostly silent throughout his Initiate years. He started to develop a habit of writing down key events from time to time. After many of his classes, discussions and conversation, either a simple journal entry about the day's events or a small fictional story would result. He enjoyed applying his experiences to his journal in this fictional respect. It was one of his primary hobbies. Though much of his focus went into his writings, he also studied hard like the majority of the student populace.

Ishu was granted the rank of Padawan a few months after turning fourteen. This granted him a small bit more of access to the temple's secrets. He lost no time in exploring a few of the rooms he now had access to now. He meditated in one of these rooms and went to bed. His training went as usual afterwards, until he had a meeting with Valar Hohn, a Jedi Knight at this temple.

Ishu met with Valar after his Lightsaber Arts and Theory class. Valar discussed Ishu's progress in the order as well as asking a few polite questions about his fiction. Ishu pondered why he was having this conversation with Valar. As if sensing this, Valar began discussing the latest Jedi Order news. He seemed to be concentrating mostly on news relating to the Alzoc Three enclave. Ishu listened politely and made a few polite remarks. Valar paused after mentioning the departures from the Alzoc enclave. Ishu pondered a essay that was due the next day during this pause. Valar said Ishu's name and turned his full attention to him. Ishu looked back into Valar's eyes. Ishu started pondering if he was about to be taken by Valar as his Padawan before finally Valar spoke. He spoke plain and clear. He asked Ishu if he would like to transfer to Alzoc Three. Ishu turned the thought over in his head before asking why. Valar answered that there were many good Masters on Alzoc, one of which would eventually take him on. Ishu paused his movements entirely and appeared to be in deep thought. Valar continued. He said that Alzoc could use another good student. Ishu continued thinking before answering that he would think on it. Valar nodded once and confirmed the validity of this thought. As Valar left the room, Ishu predicted that he probably would decide to transfer. There were a shortage of Masters at the time. It made sense to further his education where he would likely have a Master to aid him on a more intensive scale. Ishu also longed to see more of the galaxy. After every Astrography class, Ishu would eye a new planet's image on the holo-projector for a few minutes after class and think. He wondered what things were different on these planets. This was his chance to experience another world.

Ishu made preparations and left after a cycle of preparing and bidding goodbye to his Masters and peers. Ishu took a shuttle into the atmosphere and from there into space and into transit to his new home and future. As he peered out the window he held in much grief. He missed his friends, his mentors and that spectacular temple he had called home for many years. It was hard on him. He took out his datapad and added a journal entry. He felt a little better afterwords as he embraced his Jedi training and set into a light meditation. Ishu turned fifteen the day before his arrival on Alzoc Three.
