Legacy
Linn's fate was largely determined by her parents, however not in the way we would think. Her mother, Luria Daneer, was a Human-Arkanian offshoot who fled to Zeltros in her early years because of racism and hate from many pure Arkanians. Zeltros wasn't good either, especially when her bluish skin could be easily spotted among the red-skinned Zeltron. But it was better than what Arkania could give.
Luria eventually settled in the new society and met a fellow Zeltron, Jarack Dascora. They fell in love, wed, and moved in together. There was a problem though: Because of both races being too distinct from each other, they could not have children. Luria was distraught, and Jarack efforts to cheer her up were in vain. He himself was saddened by the news, as he had always wished for a child.
In a few years, Luria decided to find another way. Looking at a mirror, a thought came to her mind: To create a child using the Arkanian genetic technology. For that though, she'd have to return to Arkania.
After coming back, Luria brought with her a friend of hers, who could do the procedure. Upon asking how the journey went, Luria remained silent. The preperations were done, and the operation was to begin.
Hard work
Linn didn't remember much of what happened in her life before the age of six, but one thing was certain: Her mother, whose face she remembers faintly, was not around anymore. When asking her father, he would only say that she left for something important and promised to come back. More details, as he said, he didn't know.
At the time Linn was eleven, and school wasn't the best place for her, especially on Zeltros. She had it better than her mother though, as her skin tone was light purplish, even a bit violet in complexity, but still close enough to think of her as a Zeltron girl. But even slight differences cause problems among a group that is fairly homogeneous.
Despite everything, Linn was happy at a certain level. She had friends, although few, but such ones that count. Once though there happened a fairly dangerous situation: On her way back home from school, she was stopped and chased by a thug. She was run into a dead end, no doors no exits. With no chances of getting away, Linn was in despair, when suddenly Jarack came and fended off the thug. Linn asked how he had found her. "I sensed you were in danger, and I was just able to find you." This was perhaps the first link to her force sensitivity, but at the time, she didn't even know what the Force was.
Linn had to help her father in chores and many other gaps that Luria left. Cleaning, cooking, chores, they were all part of her everyday life. It wasn't a bother for her though. In a way, it was relaxing, and she was happy with it.
The Fated Day
Two years later, on a normal day when Linn came back from school. Upon entering home, she found her father talking with a strange person in a cloak. Jarack called her to him with his hand, and looked at the stranger. The stranger looked at Linn, and knelt down. "Don't worry child, this won't hurt." The stranger used some device and put it on Linn's arm. After a short while, he took it away, looked at Jarack and nodded. Jarack looked at Linn and said: "It's time for you to go do something more meaningful than stay on this planet. You'll go with this man here, and he'll take you to a nice place where you'll learn many new things as well as of a special gift within you. Don't worry, he'll take care of you and won't hurt you, he's a close friend of mine." Linn looked at the man a bit suspiciously and then at her father. She wanted to resist and talk back, but memories of arguing with him made her keep calm and obey. Jarack knelt down and held his hand over her head. "Everything will be fine, we'll see again too." He kissed her on her forehead and turned to the stranger. "Take good care of her." Even Linn could notice that Jarack said that while looking quite coldly at the stranger. It seemed they weren't good friends after all.
With almost no time to pack, Linn took with her things she needed the most. In the end, she didn't have much with her. Clothes were already on her, a necklace that her father gave her, saying it belonged to her mother. Linn and the stranger went by the local transport network to the local spaceports private docks. While going there, Linn was way too shy and disoriented to talk, but still asked of who this stranger was. He replied being a Jedi, and that she was going to their temple. It was perhaps his tone that made Linn keep questions to herself for the rest of the journey, or perhaps simply fear.
They arrived at the dock of a transport ship. The stranger acted strangely at that point, as if trying to "hide" in the middle of the walkway. Linn followed him. The stranger opened the back door of the transport and said: "Go inside, and wait there. My colleague will come later and fly the ship as well as tend to your needs. Good voyage." The stranger closed the door, and steps could be heard fading away. Linn looked around the room, only hearing humming. There wasn't really much light either. She walked a bit forward. "Who's there?" she heard somebody say. Behind some crates she saw a boy, by the looks slightly older than she. Linn was startled and wasn't exactly able to say anything. "Ah, you're also coming to the Jedi Temple?" the boy said. Linn only nodded. "Well, better get comfy. It'll be some time before we reach the planet, or so I was told." Linn looked from time to time in his eyes, but mostly tended to look downwards. The boy remained silent for a moment and then said: "I'm Xarav. What's your name?" "Linn" she replied. "Well, come over here. The jedi gave me some pillows and a blanket. Otherwise it's kind of cold here.
When finally a jedi came to the ship and started it up, they left Zeltros. Linn remained with Xarav for the remainder of their journey, talking with him about where they come from and all that. The jedi came over to see the new hopeful, and was surprised to see a new one. With quick introductions, the jedi brought Linn her own pillow and blanket as well as food for both. The jedi went then back to the cockpit. The next big step she would take, was the step into the Jedi Temple.
